Awards & Recognition
The Dean’s Research Scholars are a group of outstanding undergraduate students who represent the nearly 5,000 hard-working science and mathematics majors in the College of Natural Science.
The program is beginning its fifth year, and this select group of students participates in special events and speaking engagements to showcase current student success to generations of alumni. Dean’s Research Scholars have the ability to clearly communicate their research and classroom experiences to MSU alumni in order to best showcase what student life is currently like on campus, in the classroom and in the laboratory.
Honoring undergraduates students who earn a 3.50 or better grade–point average for the courses totaling 12 or more credits.
The college along with its departments and programs benefit from the generosity of thousands of contributors. Reasons for giving vary as widely as their interests and financial circumstances. What they all have in common is the desire to help make a great college even greater and to help students change their lives.
The NatSci awards are presented to faculty and staff in the college following the annual State of the College address. For more information on the awards, contact Faith Peterson in the NatSci Dean’s Office. The College Faculty Advisory Council selects the faculty awards based on nominations submitted by departments and programs. In addition, endowed teaching awards are selected annually by the Center for Integrative Studies in General Science.
The College of Natural Science awards are presented annually to alumni, faculty and students in recognition of their achievement and excellence.
